The student will learn to use an electric potter's wheel, and center a lump of clay that will ultimately be shaped into a decorative or utilitarian piece. Focus is put on the use of the piece in order to optimize its form, as well as its intention. Students of intermediary and advanced levels are expected to develop their own styles and research their projects as well as perfect their skills.

The pottery classes are of 30 hours in total, or 3 hours a week on a 10-week period. The price includes a maximum of 50 lbs of clay (2 bags), tools and equipment, studio glazes and firings.

The student will be taught a variety of techniques to sculpt a piece from a lump of clay. Through various projects, the student will be encouraged to develop his sense of observation and creativity.
